BlockTransit Encryption Protocol (BTEP)

What is BTEP?
The BlockTransit Encryption Protocol (BTEP) is a decentralized encryption framework that leverages keys generated from Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) crypto wallets—not from user devices. Messages are encrypted using the recipient’s public key, ensuring only the private key holder can decrypt the content. To bolster data security and performance, BTEP distributes encrypted data across multiple decentralized storage systems:
- Encrypted message content is stored on two decentralized networks.

- Encrypted message logs are stored on a separate decentralized storage layer. This separation mitigates risks, enhances storage efficiency, and reduces attack surfaces.

Key Benefits of BTEP
1. Enhanced Security
- Blockchain-Level E2EE
BTEP replaces conventional device-based keys with EVM wallet-based keys, providing higher assurance of ownership and cryptographic integrity. Messages—including text, media, and logs—are encrypted using recipients’ public keys and can only be decrypted with corresponding private keys.
- Layered Decentralized Security
The decentralized architecture applies specialized encryption and access control mechanisms per storage platform:
- No single point of failure.

- Custom security rules based on data type.

- Increased resistance to hacking and surveillance.

- Increased resistance to hacking and surveillance.
BTEP minimizes blockchain reliance by:
- Using decentralized storage (e.g., IPFS, Arweave) for static data (messages, media).

- Using high-performance cloud storage for dynamic or transient data.

- Avoiding unnecessary gas fees and delays by reducing on-chain writes.

- Fail-Safe in Case of Breach
Even if a decentralized storage node is compromised, attackers would only access encrypted data. Decryption would require compromising EVM private keys, a near-impossible feat without breaking Ethereum’s cryptography.
2. Privacy Protection
- Crypto Wallet Login Only
Purring Spaze requires no phone numbers, emails, or traditional login credentials. All user sessions are anchored to non-custodial crypto wallets—ensuring zero collection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Flexible Identity Management
Even if a decentralized storage node is compromised, attackers would only access encrypted data. Decryption would require compromising EVM private keys, a near-impossible feat without breaking Ethereum’s cryptography.
- MPC-Based Web 2.0 Onboarding
For Web 2.0 users, we offer Multi-Party Computation (MPC)-based authentication. All login credentials are encrypted with no recovery pathway to Purring Spaze, ensuring anonymity. A transition to True MPC is planned for 2025 to further decentralize identity authentication.
- Comprehensive Encryption Coverage
All user-generated content—including metadata—is encrypted before transmission and decentralized storage. Minimal metadata is collected, and whatever exists is encrypted.
3. User Convenience
BTEP eliminates the traditional trade-off between privacy and usability.
- Multi-Device Sync
Users can access their Purring Spaze accounts across multiple devices in real time—without compromising security or requiring local key storage.
- Cloud-Backed Data Management
Encrypted data is cloud-hosted, meaning users don’t need to manage device backups, worry about storage space, or fear message loss.
- Unlimited Account Creation
Users can create unlimited Purring Spaze or PurrMail accounts through wallet connections or social login. This flexibility supports varied use cases—from private messaging to enterprise communication.
- Cross-Platform, Cross-Chain Compatibility
BTEP supports seamless communication across Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 platforms, offering consistent UX regardless of the underlying tech stack.
4. Performance & Cost Efficiency
- Fast Message Delivery
Off-chain storage of encrypted messages removes the delay caused by on-chain block confirmations.
- Low-Cost Security
Unlike most blockchain-based messengers, Purring Spaze avoids passing gas fees to users. Instead, a hybrid model secures user data off-chain while preserving blockchain-grade encryption.
- Scalable Infrastructure
Leveraging distributed storage like Firebase, IPFS, and Filecoin ensures the network can scale horizontally with growing user demand.
5. Regulatory Compliance
- Data Minimization by Design
The zero-PII architecture simplifies compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws.
- No Data Selling
Purring Spaze collects no user data—and thus never sells or monetizes user activity.
- Built-In Compliance Flexibility
Separating metadata from message content enables tailored compliance strategies per jurisdiction, without compromising on privacy.
